You Are Not Forgotten , 2012, bleached ink on Nyl Glo nylon, 5’x 8’

The title YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN is the motto emblazoned on the bottom of the MIA/POW flag.  This project is a continuation of my work dealing with memory personally and culturally, and the fear of its loss.
The flags (nylon, rayon, polyester, cotton) are bleached at different lengths of time. Some flags become almost white; showing the barest traces of the original black & white flag. The bleach acts on each fabric and ink differently, creating and bringing out subtle colors in the process.
